2002
Back in 2002, founder, PJ van Dyk, was overseeing export control in his family citrus business. Faced with manual processes and inefficiencies, PJ, with his passion for technology, enlisted the help of our now CTO and Co-founder, Nico du Plessis, to automate operations. Together, they developed a web-based platform that streamlined tasks like waybills, stock management, digital signatures, and pivot tables, enhancing efficiency and reducing dependency on manual intervention.
2007
In 2007, with the launch of the iPhone, PJ reached out to Nico again, this time to develop what would become the first app on the App Store from a South African company, the Creamer Media app (read more here). They knew that what Apple had introduced was going to be a game-changer in how people interacted with technology on a daily basis.
2009
Glucode formalised during the design and development of the Discovery HealthID iPad app a few years later, which received recognition, including an MTN App of the Year Award. This app empowered doctors with essential diagnostic and treatment information.
TODAY
Driven by a love of technology and a curiosity for its potential to enhance lives, Glucode has since designed and developed over 100 globally shipped apps spanning various industries, from Health and Entertainment to Productivity, Energy Solutions, and Cybersecurity.
